Africa Response
Mobilizing efforts to bring relief to those facing famine in the Horn of Africa. So far, we have mobilized 800,000 meals. Text ACTNOW to 48510 to make a contribution today!
How this works... by signing up to donate a tweet per day, we will send a tweet about Africa Response each day through JUSTCOZ.org that will automatically be tweeted by you.
Don't worry, if you have been seeing our tweet stream already, it will be more of the same... but together in a concerted effort.
With this, we can be a drumbeat for change by together bringing the world to the people of the Horn of Africa! Together, we can make a difference... one tweet at a time!
See below to learn more about what we are doing.

About Africa Response
13 million people facing the worst famine in 60 years.
3.3 million people in Somalia alone need life-saving intervention.
People around the world are uniting to write a new destiny for Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia. The International Disaster Response Network is delivering food to communities ravaged by famine, and helping families take steps toward long-term food security.
You can make a difference and save a life by contributing to our cause.
What we are doing:
Half a million meals are already en route to Kenya. We are also purchasing local food supplies to support East African farmers and build confidence in local resources. Finally, long term agricultural initiatives like fruit orchards, reforestation, and drip irrigation projects will establish sustainable food supply chains, and make communities much less vulnerable to drought and other unpredictable weather conditions.
A team of nutritionists from Brazil is combatting child malnutrition by visiting poor communities to explain how different foods affect the body. Parents are learning what kinds of foods are necessary for their children to grow, and how to recognize warning signs that their children might not be receiving the right kind of nourishment.
Physicians are curbing the effects of the food shortage by showing families how to properly store and prepare food, how to know if drinking water is safe, and how to prevent disease spread by contaminated food.
