About Ayushmantra
OUR OBJECTIVES:
1. To reduce tobacco related diseases and deaths through
• Creation of awareness by organizing suitable Information, Education and Communication [IEC] programmes
• Preventive programmes for specific target groups (students, factory workers, farmers etc.,)
• Provision of Tobacco Cessation and Nicotine Deaddiction services
• Bringing about a change in societal and political outlook towards tobacco production and usage
• Conduct of research for enriching the overall scientific evidence related to impact of tobacco on health and society and means to reduce it.
• Arrangement of rehabilitation of those afflicted with tobacco related diseases.
2. To reduce the burden of other chronic diseases (Hypertension, Cardiovascular diseases, Cancers etc.,) linked to lifestyle factors like alcoholism, addictions and such habits, diet, exercise etc.,
3. To disseminate relevant information and knowledge, to edit, publish, and print literature and documents, maintain libraries, and to organize seminars / conferences / workshops / meetings etc.,
4. To impart suitable training and education to volunteers and officials, societal group leaders, and other such individuals or groups for achieving the aim of the society.
5. To generate resources in terms of manpower, money and material through voluntary and charitable activities for achieving the aim of the society.
6. To work in synergy with other governmental and non-governmental organizations to carry out the foresaid activities.
