MAR Fund
Working to provide long-term financial sustainability for natural resources management and conservation initiatives in the Mesoamerican Reef (MAR) ecoregion.
The Mesoamerican Reef, the largest coral reef in the Atlantic, supports millions of people who live on the coast. This fragile network of ecosystems is in danger from human and climate pressures, and rapid action is needed to conserve habitats, promote sustainable use of natural resources, and ensure the well-being of coastal residents.

About MAR Fund
The Mesoamerican Reef Fund (MAR Fund) is a non-profit organization created by four environmental funds from Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras, to help fund conservation and management in the entire Mesoamerican Reef Region.
Our mission is to enable innovative, transnational solutions to critical Mesoamerican reef issues through providing meaningful, long-term financial support and trustworthy reef management advice so that future generations can enjoy and benefit from a thriving reef system.
Our principal projects are the creation of an integrated network of marine protected areas (MPAs), a community fisheries program wherein fishermen help manage and monitor natural resources, and a small grants program where we finance innovative projects for conservation and education.
