About Mycelium School
The Mycelium School Overview
The Mycelium School is an international program for 18-30 year-olds to learn sustainable living and social entrepreneurship. Through three interconnected modules, students cultivate meaning through diverse, hands-on experiences while developing the hard skills they need to usher ideas to impact through social enterprise.

Participants explore and reach new insights into both internal and external landscapes (Module 1). With this cultivated understanding, the School works with its participants in drawing meaningful connections between these two worlds (Module 2). Ultimately, as the students explore and refine these connections, they develop the tools needed to manifest this meaning out in the world (Module 3).

The vision of the school is not for its students to know, but to do. Whether a graduate goes on to create economy through renewable energy across rural Kenya or healthy, locally grown lunches to schools in Lausanne, they will engage the world in a meaningful way.

The school will be outside Asheville, North Carolina and is slated to break ground in 2012/13

Target Market
The students will be aspiring social, environmental and entrepreneurial leaders from Brooklyn to Brunei looking to deepen personal and worldly understanding through hands-on experience. They will be passionate, engaged and open-minded, looking to gain the hard and soft skills needed to bring their ideas for social change to fruition.

The Mycelium School has already received inquiries from teachers, interns and prospective students from several countries who have expressed interest in attending the school’s pilot year.
