About NCA
NCA opened in 1895 as the Allegheny Association for the Improvement of the Poor. During the early years, NCA provided food, fuel and clothing assistance to immigrant workers. The Agency now operates from two locations: 1439 North Franklin Street in the Manchester section of the North Side, and 816 Tripoli Street (Limbach Community Center) located in the old Deutsch-town section of the North Side. These community centers serve as a focal point for numerous activities for residents of the North Side from all age groups. Local community groups are encouraged to join hands to strengthen their community in many ways: Neighborhood Development, Youth Services, Crisis Intervention, Senior Services and Individual and Family Services.
