About EMERGENCY ONG/Onlus
EMERGENCY was founded in Italy in 1994 to provide high quality, free-of-charge medical and surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty. In 2006 EMERGENCY became a partner of the UN/Department of Public Information and is also present in USA, UK, Japan and Switzerland.
EMERGENCY has active programmes in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Iraq, Italy, Sierra Leone and Sudan. All EMERGENCY facilities are designed, built and run by specialised international personnel who train local staff.
So far, EMERGENCY has treated over 4 million people.
Everyday over 100 people work overseas with us.
