Providing Safe drinking water and Water supply for the rural community
Almost one half of the population in South Asia lacks access to potable water and adequate sanitation facilities. There is obviously a need to combat water supply and sanitation deficiencies, The rural population of India comprises more than 700 million people residing in about 1.42 million habitations spread over 15 diverse ecological regions.Gujarat is one of the most water stressed states in India second only to Rajasthan. Fresh water resources in the state are limited and not evenly distributed. On an average, one of every three years is a drought year. These conditions, together with increased demand of water by the agriculture sector, puts very high pressure on the availability of potable water on a sustainable basis. Donate a tweet and spread the word around the globe. WATER IS PRECIOUS!!
